Eastern Eco-Question

Just as the Great Powers of the late 19th century vied for control over the natural resources of and sought material exploits from the region which following the Great War was, with the help of Gertrude Bell and others, so naturally dissected into the modern nation-states of the Middle East, today's eco-friendly reordering of the Middle East and the remainder of the less-publicized "developing" world represents a modern rationalization of might versus right, (green) profit versus people, ecology versus community. In response to a critique of apolitical considerations of environmental rationality I provide a look at community based sustainability, both religious and secular.
